Our Mission

It is the Olean Teachers’ and Postal Federal Credit Union’s mission to serve our member’s by providing them with outstanding service, advanced products, and convenience.

Persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Cattaraugus County, NY.

Employees of the United States Postal Service, United States Government and the State of New York who work in Cattaraugus County and Allegany County, NY.

Also included are spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this Credit Union, employees of this Credit Union, volunteers in the community, members of their immediate family or household, and organizations of such persons.

To be eligible to join the Olean Teachers and Postal Federal Credit Union, you must fill out a membership card, which we keep on file at the credit union office. You may elect to have a single name account or a joint account. If you elect to have your spouse as your joint member you cannot remove their name unless they agree to have it removed by signing off the account.

A $6.00 deposit is required to open your account, which purchases one credit union share in the amount of $5.00 and a $1.00 membership fee. The $5.00 remains in your account until you wish to close it permanently. We do ask that you keep your account active either through payroll deduction or regular deposits.

Important information about procedures for opening a new account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal Law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you

When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to scan your driver’s license or other picture identification documents for our photo identification program.

Thank you for your understanding and help in this critical effort. The war on terrorism will be fought on many fronts, and this is one of them.
